INTEGRATED CHANGE CONTROL 

All automated and manual actions undertaken by RockSolid are controlled by configurable change control policies.  This ensures while a DBA gains benefits from having common operational tasks carried out automatically on their behalf, only the tasks they have given specific approval for are undertaken.  This allows a DBA to at all times maintain complete control of what activities are occurring on their database systems.

 

MANAGE CHANGE CONTROL

Many types of Service Requests, both manually and automatically raised, require change control approval before the relevant job can be carried out. RockSolid cannot act without change approval and will email change approvers to request approval of Change Requests.

AUTO APPROVE CHANGE CONTROL

RockSolid does allow automatic approval of change control for certain types of Service Requests. This should only be enabled when the activities associated with the service request are ok to proceed straight into implementation. For example, Shrinking Database Files or Shrinking Log Files.
