INSTANCE MANAGEMENT

DBAs can search for, and configure, instances using the Manage Instances screen. Instances matching the search criteria are presented in a table format enabling key information such as the instance name, data quality, monitored status, and the number of databases and jobs to be seen at a glance. Instance Login, Job and Disk information can also be viewed and
edited.

INSTANCE GROUPS

SQL Server instances with the same attributes can be assigned to an Instance Group, enabling a number of instances to be managed as a single entity, reducing maintenance time. Once the instance(s) have been assigned to an Instance Group DBAs can make changes to the Instance Settings. The settings are divided into five types:

  • Monitoring
  • Operating System
  • Instance Configuration
  • Instance Management
  • Security

DATABASE MANAGEMENT

RockSolid has a range of database settings that can be manually configured to assist with database management. Settings can be applied to a single database or a group of databases assigned to a Database Bucket. Membership of a database bucket can occur automatically via routing, or manually by assigning a database directly to a bucket.
