Red Rock Oracle Leadership Forum

Topics
Forum topics will include:

Strategy and Vision
This area of focus will bring together the elements of business management and IT strategy along with the tools and techniques at our disposal to execute them. If you are charged with the responsibility of achieving corporate goals and out competing your competitors, then we recommend you attend these sessions.

Applications
Oracle’s portfolio of business applications has been extended significantly over the past several years. Presentations in this area will provide insight into innovative and leading edge deployment, adoption and extension case studies of these Applications. Challenges and hurdles encountered by members of the Applications community will be shared in a way that will assist session participants with similar initiatives within their own organisations. Case studies outlining innovative initiatives that have unlocked value for Oracle users will be discussed and shared. Future direction in terms of applications, functionality and architecture will provide a view to the horizon in order that session attendees will be able to align their own organisations goals to the direction and availability of solution software.

Technology
The landscape of the technology for supporting and enabling your business has changed significantly and this rapid pace of change is set to continue. Most significantly it is not acceptable to quarantine technology components as simply a set of back office tools that your information technology specialists will adopt and use to deliver computer based business systems. Middleware has been adopted as an all encompassing term that includes technology and “close to application” components that represent opportunities to crack open key business initiatives in areas like Identity Management, Content Management, Enterprise 2.0, SOA and Business Intelligence. Together with new features and enhancements in the database, Oracle technology enables organisations to improve productivity, security and compliance, business agility and business insight. Representatives from Oracle, Red Rock and your pears will be on hand to share their stories and ideas on successes and new frontiers.

Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
Changing markets, competitive pressures and evolving customer needs are placing increasing pressure on IT to deliver greater flexibility and speed to market. Leading companies are adopting SOA as a means of delivering on these requirements by overcoming the complexity of their application and IT environments. SOA facilitates the development of enterprise applications as modular business services that can be easily integrated. Benefits include re-use, ease of maintenance, reduced development/support costs, and improved business visibility.  These are excellent sessions if you are responsible for reducing the total cost of your IT infrastructure and are thinking about consolidation, web application development, reducing complexity or improving manageability.

Enterprise Performance Management & Business Intelligence
In today’s competitive climate, companies that truly excel understand the importance of accessing meaningful, up to date information at the right time and in the right context. Yet, all too often, corporate information systems and business processes are misaligned. If you’re wrestling with disparate information and missing data, it’s likely that you have an incomplete view of your business. These sessions will demonstrate how to overcome this challenge by informing you on Oracle’s EPM / BI strategy and roadmap, as well as its latest release tools.
